Welcome to Country
In the Spirit of Reconciliation, the St. Pius X school community recognizes the ongoing role of the traditional custodians of this land, the Tubba-Gah peoples of the Wiradjuri nation. It is on their ancestral lands that we continue our learning journey together.
We extend that respect to Elders, past, present and emerging. Furthermore, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our school community. Acknowledging their presence and spiritual connection to Country.
In the light of faith, we work towards a more accepting and humble school environment for all.
Principal's Address
All Saints Day
All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. It should not be confused with All Souls' Day, which is observed on November 2, and is dedicated to those who have died and not yet reached heaven.
Generally, All Saints' Day is a Catholic Holy Day of Obligation, meaning all Catholics are required to attend Mass on that day, unless they have an excellent excuse, such as serious illness.

School Fees
Last week statements were sent out. For those families making regular payments or are on payment plans, the statement was just to provide you information on how your fees are progressing. For those who are not making regular payments, school fees need to be finalised by the 2nd of December. If you are experiencing financial stress and are unable to finalise your school fees payments, please contact the school, so we can discuss options to support you.
Sun Safety
As the weather becomes warmer, can I ask all parents to ensure that their child has a school hat each day (clearly labelled with their child’s name). Children not wearing hats will be required to sit out of play as our “NO HAT, NO PLAY’ rule will be enforced.
We would also request that students apply sunscreen prior to school. School has sunscreen available if students would like to reapply.

Polding Athletics
Last week we had Amity Penman travel to Sydney to compete at the Polding Athletics carnival.
Amity finished 2nd in her heat and 22nd overall in the Junior girls 1500m. Amity achieved a six second personal best, her time was an amazing five minutes and 32 seconds.
Well done Amity, a wonderful achievement to make it to such a high level.
PSSA SUMMER SPORT (YEARS 4, 5 & 6)
PSSA Summer sports started last Friday (Weeks 2 to 8), this includes Years Four, Five and Six only. We will be leaving school at 9.00a.m and returning at around 11.00a.m. Assemblies for term four will take place after Peer Support at 2.50pm. Starting Week Five assembly will move to 2.20pm.
Students will need hat, drink bottle, sunscreen and a good sporting attitude.
We have teams representing in:
- Senior Boys Touch – Lady Cutler – Miss Montague
- Senior Girls Touch – Lady Cutler – Mr Cant and Mrs Adams
- Junior Mixed Touch – Apex Oval – Miss Gailey and Mrs Garling
- Senior Mixed Netball - Mrs Rose
In the past St. Pius X has excelled in all areas of PSSA – one of the main areas is our sportsmanship plus our overall results. We would like this trend to continue so all children attending PSSA should remember they are representing St. Pius X and should uphold the school rules at all times.
Any misconduct will result in the student/s being suspended or possibly banned from PSSA.
The support of parents at games would be very much appreciated.
